Hey! I'm Jess. I love to cook and I love to write so that's where the idea for this blog came from. I'm a single girl in my late 20's (If anyone knows any good guys I'm always up for meeting new people! hahaha). I work as a manager at a local credit union. During the week I cook as much as I can for my family. On the weekends I spend most of my time with my friends. We hang out at a wide variety of places, but mostly we frequent places with good food, cheap drinks, and live music.
We also like to try new places and are also big fans of patios and a good BBQ. Occasionally we'll venture out for a fancier dinner, but that's reserved for special occasions. It's my life and I love it.
My cooking adventures began back when I was a little girl. Some of my first memories are standing on a chair next to my mom or Grandma with my apron on "helping" them cook. Obviously in my teenage years and early 20's I loved fast food more than I loved anything (Taco Bell is still my guilty pleasure.), but in the last couple years and even more so in the last couple months I've developed a great love affair with food and cooking.
I love to try new food and flavors. I hate when people ask what my favorite food is because I never can decide, but a couple of my most favorite foods (in no particular order) are: sushi, a bloody steak, mexican of any kind, seafood, and even a well made grilled cheese sandwich can make a bad day good for me. I've been cooking more lately because my New Year's resolution this year was to cook more and expand mine and my family's flavor and cuisine horizons. So since January of 2011 I've been buying up all the cookbooks (Tyler Florence is my favorite!) and kitchen gadgets I can find (and afford) and using them to create some delicious meals my family and friends.
